Hi,
I don't know it is the correct category or not, but bgt 1.1 was released! You can download it from the
Blastbay
Website.

I personally might have posted in Accessible Games but I suppose either or would have worked since it's technology.

What is it?

It stands for Blastbay Game Toolkit. Basically it's a scripting tility that allows people with little to no programming knowledge to code their own audio games. You can eve sell te games you make, though you have to pay for a license to do this. There are three licenses in all. The free version allows you to get familiar with the scripting language and develop free games, bt you can't compile them into standalone executables. This means A. that anyone you want to share the ggame with has to have any version of the BGT program installed on their machine in order to run it and B. that the user will have access to and could modify your code. Then you have BGT Light which costs thirty dollars and still only allows for the development of free games, but you then have access to the script compiler and can turn the code into an actual executable tat won't require the BGT program to run. That also meas the end users won't be able to mess around with your code. Then there's BGT Pro Single License, which costs 100 dollars. With that license you can develop, compile and sell one commercial title. Of course this does mean you sell as many copies of that one game as you can manage to sell. Then the last license is BGP Pro Unlimited which costs 400 dollars and which, as its name suggests, allows unlimited development of as many free or commercial titles as you want and can manage to sell. The best part is that the licenses are stackable, meaning if you pay 30 bucks for BGT Light you then only have to pay 70 for the single license. THen if you want to upgrade to Unlimited you would have to pay 300 instead of 400 bucks.

That's actually really interesting. it would be an excellent oppertunity for me to test my audio editing capabilities and make a something unique....if I can find the time these days.:(

I wish he would work more on developing his own games instead of this software, but that's just me. I'd say this is the place for it, since this is not a game itself, rather, a kit for developing audio games.

He's actually going to be using BGT to develop all his future titles since it speeds the process up considerably. So the more features he can add the better it'll be. In fact the title he's currently working on, Perilous Hearts, is being developed entirely using BGT.
